Review: Youth.Inasia by Joshua Shier

Joshua Shier’s Youth.Inasia collection exuded delicate and refined elegance that spoke volumes through interesting shapes and clever colour-blocking. The Youth.Inasia woman is definitely modern in her fashion sense and she embraces structured silhouettes with bold colours.

The colour palette was comprised primarily of black, white, green, red, blue, purple, and teal. Interesting tailoring techniques helped to create stark exaggerated shapes in sleeves, shoulders, pant legs and bodices. A mixture of beautiful separates (including skirts, drop-crotch pants, jumpsuits, skinny pants, coats and tops) and dresses made their way down the FAT runway, but the key pieces were: the single sleeved asymmetrical top, the angular wide legged blue pants, and all of the gorgeous colour-blocked dresses. I loved Joshua Shier’s design point of view and Youth.Inasia’s bold and graphic aesthetic unabashedly commanded everyone’s attention .
